The Depot Preservation Alliance wishes to invite members of the community to attend a forum at the Depot on Wednesday, October 1 at 5 p.m.
 The purpose of the forum is to acquaint the community of the vision for the reuse of the Depot and to receive input from the community on how that vision can be implemented in the Depot.
The basic vision for the adaptive reuse plan for the main floor of the Depot includes three functional areas:
a) historic exhibit area in the former stationmaster’s office regarding the role of transportation in the settlement of this area;
b) artisans’ marketplace in the former general lobby and freight rooms;
c) small business rental spaces in the east half of the building.  Sustainable design features will be an important factor in the planning.
Special guests from the University of Minnesota will be at the forum, including Virajita Singh, Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Sustainable Building Research (UM) and Hans-Christian Karlberg, graduate student and Fulbright Scholar in the Masters of Architecture program.  Their services are funded via a grant through the Northwest Minnesota Regional Sustainable Development Partnership.
They have some questions for the Baudette Community:
As we work on ideas for the Baudette project, it would be very helpful to get your input to the project. Our questions are:
1. What environmental issues are important to your community in Baudette?
2. Do you have suggestions for specific things we should keep in mind as we think of the historic exhibit area, artisan’s marketplace and small business rental space in the new Baudette Depot?
3. Are there other ideas about Baudette and your community that you think should be reflected in the design?
