The winter sports season is in full swing at Lake of the Woods with all four sports in game action this week.
The girls' hockey team has three games finished in the season. They lost to Crookston and Warroad earlier, and last night lost 1-3 to Thief River. They played well, holding the game scoreless in the first period. The Prowlers got the first goal, and the Lady Bears answered. The goal was put in by Brenley Anderson, withhelp from Shelby Nosan and Kaitlyn Ferris. The second period ended with a 2-1 score. It looked like a very close game all the way through the third, until TRF put in the last goal with little over a minute remaining. Another thing to note about girls' hockey is that the December 11 game against Fort Frances at the Rainy River Arena will be rescheduled.
The boys' hockey team has one win for one game so far in the season. They beat Kittson Central in an away game December 2nd with a final score of 6-1. The Bears host Orono tonight and Mound-Westonka Saturday.
The girls' basketball team has a good start to the season also, with a win over Warroad last night in Warroad. They continue on their road trips with games in International Falls on the 8th and the Fosston Tournament on the 11th and 12th.
Boys' Basketball starts play tonight when they host Tri-County Wildcats.
